Annual Ski Sale this Saturday

The Annual Ski Sale is this Saturday; it's a great opportunity to get some new ski gear or trade up some of your old stuff. It's a wildly popular event and has been going on for a long time.
We found out just how long from Sean Edwards, the Chief Emeritus of the Ski Sale.
"Well the ski sale started with the Juneau Ski Club way back in the 60's when they were still skiing up at 3rd cabin up in Douglas and it's been the primary fundraiser for the Juneau Ski Club and the Juneau Ski Patrol ever since then. We've been down at Centennial Hall since the early 90's, and it's a consignment sale and we take in equipment, ski gear, snowboard gear and other outdoor equipment. So if people want to consign gear to us we'll have check in from 5 to 8 tonight, from 4:30 to 9 on Friday and from 7:30 to 9:30 on Saturday morning. They can bring their gear in, we have the consignment sheets available in the lobby at Centennial Hall, they come in, they write down some descriptions and pricing information on their equipment, bring it in, we go ahead and tag it and we'll put it out on the floor, it's all organized. The consignment fee is 20% and its split between the Juneau Ski Patrol and the Juneau Ski Club and it goes to fund the Juneau Ski Club's youth racing programs and training programs and it also goes to fund the Juneau Ski Patrol and we use it for our training budget and buying training equipment and that kind of stuff. "
The doors open Saturday morning at 10, but if you're serious about scoring some new gear, be there early because the line gets really long, and the good gear goes quickly. The admission is a mere two dollars.
Sean also voiced a rather common Juneau wish; "Hope to see everybody down there you know, it's a great way to see all of your friends that you haven't seen since you were up on the mountain last year, and keep doing your snow dances."
